Betty D’Light

Pin-up model and veteran burlesque artist Betty D’Light is a driving force in the UK’s erotic performance scene. As assistant festival co-ordinator for London Burlesque Festival and Chaz Royal, Betty helps to produce spectacular shows such as the World Burlesque Games, Twisted Cabaret, and the Sexy Circus Sideshow, which was staged at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe and the fledgling Edinburgh Burlesque Festival.

Classically trained in theatre and dance, Betty performs a range of themed acts ranging from fetish to fan dance, many of which are performed in a classical style en pointe. Her sensual looks and glittering performance skills, have earned her many accolades: “She’s taking burlesque to a surreal, possibly insane dimension,” – The Sunday Times; “Betty D’Light has no problem getting her pointe across!” – The Londonist.

Betty has kindly joined Erotica as a resident blogger to tell us all about the workings behind what makes a major production like that a success – from concept and design to the technical realities of bringing the idea to life…as well as those inevitable little dramas along the road.
